Fast Fatten...

I have a few mean roos and wonder if any of you have a way to fatten them up fast... I am completly over these meanies....

I have been adding scratch to their feed but wondered if there is a way to fatten em up quick .. I could really use the bachelor pad for my banties right now ..

Corn has very little value other than to fatten them up. So, I'd say corn would be a good route to take...and it's cheap!

An old timer told me that adding oats will put on weight. I have tried it and it worked. I just bought some of the 'Old Fashioned Rolled Oats' from Walmart fed them to the quail for a week and they seemed heavier to me. Nice meaty quails! I did not want to buy a 50# bag of oats from the feed store, that is why I got mine from walmart.

Cool I'll have to try that out .. I actually already processed the one roo but am pretty sure i have a few more in my last hatch so I will give it a shot on them ...

I use broiler feed.... 22% All corn really does is add a layer of fat to them but if that's what your looking for.... then use corn. However if you want thicker birds.... feed them a higher protein diet
