Faverolles Thread

Pics
All of your Faverolles pictures have been beautiful & fun to see the slight diversities in color. Can anyone shed light on how the Blue got into the Faverolles lines, as in Blue Salmon Faverolles?

HMMMM I don't know its a great question I hope someone can answer. Did it happen way back in France or was it a rescent addition here?

There have been solid color faverolles in the past. White, black, blue, and even cuckoo. They aren't common but they have existed. I assume someone at some point crossed a solid blue with a salmon to produce blue salmon. I can't say how long ago it was, or if it was in Europe or the US.

Check out feathersite to see some "other" color faverolles.

YIPPIEEE! glad to hear he's calmed down. (i'll take him if you ever need to re-home him!)

Maybe I will have to take you up one that he was noisy again today I need to try and figure something out so I can keep him for a while longer but I think that for the long run I will only be able to have the Black Ameraucana boy because he is quiter. This guy is very pretty but he likes to be in crow off with the other rooster. I guess he was just quite because he was locked up most of the morning.

Ha ha don't worry I will find a way to keep him for a long time at least until it starts to get really warm. I think after my Ameraucana girls who are in the mail right now are though quarentine and in with the flock I will leave Mr.Faverolle in the shed in a large dog crate for a few more hours in the morning. I will also put two of his girls in there with him and then he will be able to go out for the afternoon. My Dad seems to think he has gotten better but my Mom says he is still to loud so we will see how the cookie crumbles
