Faverolles Thread

I would like to post a few (or more) pics of the three chicks here for confirmation of sex if possible. I tried to keep these just wing shots.

They all seem to have salmon shoulders and dark primaries. Please, someone tell me they aren't all male.

Looking at these now I am not sure you are going to be able to tell anything. I will try again in another week or so when feathers are even more clear.

One of the group enjoying the grass. Its our first sunny day in a while.
Agreed, all girls :) .... I don't know how you managed to make that happen!

The pictures of the roosters are killing me. Beautiful!

Looks like your going to need to find yourself a rooster.

Yeah, no kidding! I wish I could have hatches like that. Guess I was blessed by the rooster fairy.

Got rid of a dozen males yesterday. Fifteen half grown males and 5 of the 7 my broodies hatched for me left a couple weeks ago. I still have 10 that I want to grow out a while longer to see which get to stay.

Hey there! Anyone ever deal with some Favs pulling out their leg feathers? I have a couple that are doing this to the point that their legs were bloody in some areas. I put VetRx on the legs and rubbed it in good. Anything else I should be looking for? Their legs aren't scaly so I wasn't thinking leg mites but it makes me wonder. I am going to keep putting stuff them. What do you think?

I had a Blue Copper French Marans roo that would pick at his a good deal..... I didn't see blood, but I noticed the loss of feathering and I looked him over several times and dusted everybody, but he just seemed to be irritated by the feathers I guess...

- Yeah, I think he stopped by my place right after he left yours!

I took in 6 roos 2 weeks ago.... I tried to find homes for some of them and of course, someone responded after the fact for the blue copper guy - I was sick.... He was a good roo.... What do ya do??? Next time I have "that feeling," I'll just wait.

These are a young cockerel and pullet. So the feathers are growing in, and when they pull them out they bleed. I think if they were older it wouldn't. I was thinking the same thing, but I just want some input from anyone that has dealt with this or read about it, or something, anything.
