Of course blueberrychickens will have to find a sitter for the gentleman until then so I'm probably not the best transportation option.

I'm happy to say that Handsome Boy will be going to his new forever home next weekend. He will be living the high life down on Cape Cod w a lovely flock of Salmon Faverolles. (As long as hurricane Sandy doesn't blow the cape away!)

Yay great news!!!

I also have a question about feet. I'm new to the breed and I was taking a good look at the feet of my two girls today. Now the only other 5 toed breed I have (and I can't think of another off the top of my head) is a silkie...and the favorelle feet do not look very silkie like. Can someone post a picture of what proper favorelle feet should look like? What toes should have feathering? Which should be bare? How should the joints be situated? thanks!!

A while back Cloverleaf and maybe PiperOmar (?) posted pics of chick feet with proper toes/placement.... I tried to find the postings, no luck.... They're back around # 11000, somewhere... Yes, I'm paranoid about feet! (not my own

I wouldn't mind seeing some fresh pics of good feet.....(man, that just sounds weird! I need to go to bed

I will try my best to take some foot pictures tomorrow and post them. I have a couple with Ideal toe placement and a couple with not so ideal toe placement. But most are pretty darn good so I will try and get one of my roommates to help me tomorrow.

Yeah I am not to worried about the storm. Don't think it will hit Vermont very hard. But after Hurricane Irene last year we are all battening down our hatches. Glad to hear that Sandi will be taking him into her flock.

Henry, I just want to say I love seeing your pics. There was one a while ago of a pullet looking out between two wooden slats that I keep in my mental frame when I look at my girls. They are at the flighty, chicken kung fu teenage stage. So funny. IDK that anyone cares but they have spent their first three days out this week. Its been so nice to see them on grass before it turns to mud or snow. never think chickens (or any animal) looks prettier than when they are one grass. I'll try to post pics. We are trying to get the last of the wood in today and picking up in case we do get a lot of severe wind.
