Yes -- they can be sexed by feather color at around two weeks old (if you know what to look for, LOL!). Also the little cockerel isn't feathering out as fast as his sisters. That may be what threw me on the two older chicks, as they have feathered out very quickly.

Who can I buy some hatching eggs from? They seem like such sweet birds. I still would like to see the eggs!

I only have a small flock. One Americauna, two Brahmas, and a Brown Danish Leghorn. I also just hatched thee, Cockoo Marans.

Pasofinofarm has hatching eggs (large fowl), and so does hcammack (bantam); Cloverleaf Farm has eggs (large fowl), I think -- I got my chicks from her. There are some others, too, but those will get you started.

Do you still have the chick you kept? How does it compare with these in color?

I'm not upset about having three cockerels to two pullets -- they're straight run, after all. And I do plan to get some more babies this year, so who knows what I'll end up with!

I'm actually enjoying having them in my bedroom -- it's kind of nice to hear their little cheep-cheeping. I just have to stay on top of changing the bedding every single day!
