Maybe brain damage, viola? Lol

I have gotten two dozen eggs from piper, and have had probably 20 hatch... they are lovely! I will say if you are planning on buying a cockerel around the same age as your current one for a breeding program, the chance is that the cockerel of that age is a cull, so you would ave to see hat reasons for culling, and if your pullet matches well. Good luck!

Well, of the pictures of Piper's birds that i have seen, they are a notch above….Sooooo, agreeing with the above, even if it would be a cull from Piper, if all the conformational points are good i think it would be worth a look. BTW, She has been ebaying eggs from her lavender group who look pretty interesting too...

My chicks are from eggs from PiperOmar :) I also bought 6 of her Lav Faverolles eggs and 4 BBS Orps. Unfortunately due to some flooding/moisture issues I only had 2 of the Lav Faverolles hatch: 1 Lav and 1 brown, and 1 of the BBS Orps. I lost the Lav & BBS Orp shortly after they hatched (they had pipped for almost 24 hrs before fully emerging). She did tell me ahead that the Lav is a project and hence the brown chick (haven't posted pics yet from that group). I am excited though as I am pretty positive the brown one is a girl as its the same age but is almost fully feathered out and the sweetest of the bunch!!!

Like I said I don't know all the different SOP points to look for in Favs, I have been trying to learn the Wyandotte standard. but every time I see a photo of her birds, they are just breathtaking. I think even if it were a cull I would be lucky! I couldn't point out the bad traits even if I saw them.

Lavender Faverolles! she actually mentioned it to me but, I just cant think about another breeding project, I'd have to stick to salmons. I LOVE the lavender color though, my wyandottes are blue and splash, and so the lavender color is really appealing to me. maybe if she has extra lavender pullets that way it wouldn't be for breeding, but for beauty. I think I am going to empty my pocketbook when I see her birds ! I think I have an addiction, help.

LOL Too funny! I JUST posted over on another forum that I think I am a "Chicken Hoarder" as a friend that works at a local co op said the have sexed pullets: Sussex, Blue Cochin and Jersey Giants and I instantly want them! (I AM refraining as I have a ton of cuteness right now! Although I don't have a GJ and would make a nice addition to my variety? Hmm MUST refrain)
