Faverolles Thread

you bet. I even put 2 roos together that weren't raised together. One of them is very dominant, and the other knows his place, though I've never seen them actually get into it. Of course, there are always exceptions, and you want to make sure they have plenty of room to get away from each other. My subordinate roo is 8 mos old, and has never even attempted to crow with the boss roo in there!

If you put them together slowly they should do ok but it varies from rooster to rooster. I don't have the adult they belong to wegotchickens. it should work if they were raised together and have enough girls. I will tell you I tried to introduce my roosters who weren't raised together and they fought like crazy!

Or maybe a roo... Uno (the Blue Wheaten Ameraucana Roo in my avatar) was the only survivor from a ship of 24 eggs... he is to this day the most fantastic Blue Wheaten Ameraucana Roo I have ever seen in person or picutures. He made my flock what it is... and I considered him a gift from God.

Still a boy? 5 weeks

I am looking for some Faverolles and would prefer Standard, but would be perfectly happy with Bantams. I live in North Georgia, near the South Carolina border. I will drive up to about 3 hours from there to pick them up. Anything from about a couple of weeks old to laying age would be great.

Thanks,
Chris

Well, my almost 6 week old babies got to go out in the sunshine for the first time today. Can you tell they enjoyed it?

Notice the coloring on my (formerly known as) white pullet in the middle of the pile below. Looks like she's going to be Salmon I think. The pile of black fuzz in the corner is the Silkie who is everyone's favorite pillow for some reason.

This is Celski, one of the two White Faverolles cockerels (you would never have guessed that would you). He is the smaller of the two.

. . . and this is Apollo. He was the monster of the group at hatching and is still the largest.

This is one of the two Blue Salmon?(they are sooo dark - could they be Mahogany?) Faverolles cockerels - not named as he's probably headed for freezer camp.

And here is the second - at least I think he's a he . . . any opinions?

And the only two pullets. Can you see the Salmon starting to show(yes the speckles are dirt - dust bathing is so fun)?

chickonthehill, I see you have 2 of those dark ones who are sending mixed signals about gender. If you scroll further up, there's some pics of mine. My whites had some salmon shading in them so I just call them splashes, LOL. Here's a pic of my salmon, she's almost 4 weeks old in this picture
