Faverolles Thread

They are beautiful I'm glad you got three girls it must have been hard with both white and the dark girl I love the colors on them how odd that you got three weird colored birds from her eggs where the ones I am guessing youbgave away or sold normal salmons?

No, they were white like that or like my darker one. I gave the 3 males to Chickenzoo, now she has chicks from them and her hen. I had another whitish one that started gurgling and panting at about 4 weeks old, and we had to euthanize her.

Maybe we can get Chickenzoo to add hers to this thread!

That would be great that's so crazy that all of the chicks were white or dark maybe they came from a speacial pen or a specfic roo that had white in him. I thought pasofino only bhad salmons.

Thanks for the pics,
Henry

So did I. But breeding has it's difficulties, I guess. She did post about it when she found out from others. But Henry! You're going to start breeding them. Have fun!

Thanks ya I understand well glad she explained breeding is so complicated. Hopefully no one throughs wonky colors although I think your girls are beautiful. We will hopefully see how the grand chicks look in about 16 or 17 days that's when the first test hatch should pop I think.
Thanks,
Henry

Interesting .. my birds came from her also.. I've got a white roo and a "mahogany" pullet. I love love love them and am getting more chicks from her. I'm actually hoping for more whites .. *shrug*

I had the same issues with sexing .. lol. The little girl started feathering really dark and I thought it was a roo ... then the white one i was hoping was a pullet, and he got the nicest little comb ..

I don't mind the color variations .. not sure I'll ever show, but just love the look and personalities of these birds!

Also, I'll be interested to see if my white roo has some 'color' when he gets his "big boy" feathers.. right now he is snow white.

I had some eggs from her also. Unfortunately I was only able to hatch one due to my lousy old LGs, and of course it was a roo. I had hoped for an "off" color but he was the usual standard salmon color. Beautiful boy, too bad his personality didn't match.

Someone in Texas has blue and splash standard favs. They had some birds on eggbid not that long ago.

Texasgal, Ilove them all! With the mahogany one, her wing feathers were dark but not solid black. The other one had solid black coming in. With the whites, I went by who had the fastest growing tail feathers, LOL. Well it worked. Your birds are beautiful, as beautiful as mine!
