Laura and Sarah are the ones with the red salmons I picked up, and it sounds like they have more too!

Thats great! Are you guys close in Maine? We have actually decided that we are going to stay here tomorrow night because of the traffic and leave at 4am Saturday! So I am not really on a time limit anymore I know you probably want to head back home before the traffic really settles in do you have to drive on 84? Are you headed to Dicks at 12? I am about 35-45 minuets away depending on traffic all on nice backroads though

. I really want to have one of those jackets that I saw on the old fav fanciers site. I am actually thinking about designing a T-shirt or sweatshirt anyone interested? It would be pretty much the same design because I love that one

I'll show you the jacket when you get here.

I plan on getting there 12-12:30. By the time I do all the usual morning stuff, walk the dog, load up the birds and get there it will be at least noon. I don't have to take 84 at all. I'm in NE MA, about 20 min from the NH border. I'll be taking 495 to 290 to 146. 495 gets really busy since it's the main way to NH, ME and the beaches. 290 can be crazy anytime.

Ok great to know I will plan on getting there around 12:30. It shouldn't be to crazy for me to get there. The best thing is moving birds around in the car while people are watching. Outside the pizza restaurant tonight I had a salmon hen under one arm and the blue hen under the other and I was yelling at the lavender cockerels because they were trying to get out. I have one dog crate and then show boxes so I wanted everyone to get an opportunity to eat in the dog crate which involved moving all of them from one crate to another and deciding which groups "get along"

I must have looked so crazy.

Ha HA.....been there......done that many times.

When I got home with the buff hens from Dicks, I bred a buff hen with a salmon roo and out popped a mahogany roo. So I started breeding him back to the buff girls and finally started getting buff. I am on 3rd generation of buffs. Babies are growing. I am sticking with salmon, buff, black and white. That is all I have room for.

Yep that is why black birds need to be kept around even in more established lavender lines. Its getting bad with the D'uccles you will see tomorrow.

Henry

Next thing will be rainbow favs

every time I get a chance to catch up on this thread I see a new color being talked about... I guess I will have to be the one who works on the Salmons

My chicks from MPC are back-ordered until mid August

but i did get 15 Welsummer chicks that I probably won't be keeping.

Hey salmons are very popular compared to the other colors. I am not going to make mahogany or work with red salmons. Its just chicken genetics are so fun!
