It's not their skin, because we managed to clip a couple off. When I cut the knots open, it was just feathers. I'll try to get a pic or two. I was like, what is this, little birdie dreadlocks?

are you sure they didn't get something stuck in their beards/muff like pine pitch or something sticky? i found that some of my favs were gentle and would help to clean the others beard where they couldn't reach it.

if you have a pic of the problem areas you might want to post it on here for us to help out if you still need it.

Yes, mine "help" each other clean their beards too - by pulling it out!

Poor Emmet has almost no beard left!

He doesn't have enough left to worry about it getting knotted up. mame1616, maybe I should send my girls over to "help" yours keep their beards untangled.

with most of my girls in a beginning stage of molt i've noticed missing beards on most of them. Kiva is the only one to have her beard fully plucked out/grown back and now it looks wonderful! i need to update my pics of everyone in the coop.

Hi, everyone! I'm gearing up for some local shows so I was wondering if you all would tell me what you think of my Fav. bantams. Unfortunately, no one around here has them, so I've not seen any to compare with at past shows. I've studied the Standard. They seem pretty close to it, except one of the hens doesn't have much leg feathering. Anyway, what do you all think?

Dick, Peter, Cindy & Henry...Here are the pics of my tiny little black man I promised to post. Yes, I know he's "naked" at the moment and is leaking a bit of color, but it appears he MAY have a decent beard when grown in. PLEASE be critical because I am, even at this age ... I have to be. So your input is greatly appreciated. Gonna go gear up w/camo & helmet now
