Faverolles Thread

I am going to have a little fun with my LF Faverolles. I just love this breed... they are so poofie and sweet... especially my beautiful white roo, "Mr. Hen". Soooo, in my new breeding pen I now have my white roo, black hen, splash hen, blue-salmon hen and 2 salmon hens. This mix should give me a rainbow of colorful Faverolles chicks to play with. I have been reading color genetics books and playing with the chicken calculator trying to see what I might end up with... looks like I will get whites, blues, blacks, salmons and salmon blues! I will post pics as soon as I hatch some of these cuties out

I don't have anything for sale now. I am in Maryland and will have bantam blues, blacks, and splashes this spring and could probably do chicks or started birds. There are a lot of people in Ohio with Faverolles both standard and bantam. Ron Patterson has very good Standards and Leisha has good bantams.

That should be and interesting cross please post pictures when they hatch!

I was soooo bummed when I lost my black roo and I haven't had any luck at all finding a replacement for him... so I figured - why not!
I am super jazzed now and I will most definitely share pics as soon as I have'em.

Can I ask, who you got our birds from?

My wife picked them up last night at a Livestock auction she works at. I believe the lady that brought in the cockerel was from around Berton Ohio (she also has Cochin) The Hen I have no idea about but she was at the same Livestock action.

If you don't mind why do you ask...

Chris

I was just wondering what breeder you got them from. Where in Ohio do you live?

I live in Hartville just North of Canton and just south of Akron..
But the auction we got them from was down at Rogers Livestock Auction.

Henry, it's Scarlett! LOL! I used to be on this forum a lot but then fell off. I do have an email list of members thanks to you, but so far most don't have birds. As one person pointed out -it's sort of the wrong time of year for them right now.
