if you can get them to pose broadside that would help get a good look at their body shape and wing placements!

Broad Size? So a side shot or front shot? He does look like he is trying to pose doesn't he

Well, I had 2 doctors at work look at him tonight. He was SO neurologic, and there had been no improvement in 2 months. Very wobbly, and almost seemed narcoleptic on top of it. We went ahead and euthanized him, becuase if nothing else, he wasn't happy. I necropsied him, and there was no sign of anything amiss internally, so I feel fairly confident that it wasn't mareks. But what it WAS we still don't know. I think just something wrong with his brain.

Could it have been mites in his ears?

I suppose that'd be possible. Didn't think of that, as I have never seen anyone speak of it on the threads before, and never seen it mentioned in any chicken-health related literature I've read. How commom is that?
When handled, he would get really stressed and either start panting or just pass out, sometimes both...

I have heard of it but I though it would just cause imbalance. Maybe he suffered some sort of brain trau/a from trying to escape the box during shipping.

That's what I was wondering too, because when I opened the box one of the girls was literally standing on him, and he was all smashed down in the shavings, which is why I thought he was dead...

You said he was young right? Were the girls older and larger then him? They could have had one of those dominance battles that chickens have and because they were in a boc he would not have been able to escape. The only silkie and leghorn I have had suffered head injuries while being introduced to the adult birds and died these birds were usually calm and respectful of birds their own age and size but the little leghorn and silkie couldn't handle it. They showed some of the same symptoms your guy had.
