Faverolles Thread

I have been searching and searching for standard Salmon Faverolles close by and I have just not and any luck. We have 1 hen that is nice quality and really need some more. The children absolutely love the them (and so do I).

Anyone that is selling hatching eggs could you please PM me?

Thanks so much,
Carly

An auction, but I don't have access to the emails any more to tell ya the source, now. (Had a computer crash in the interim.) I don't think they were BYC eggs, but from eBay. I get hatching eggs from both places. Sorry!

I didn't know there WERE Blue Salmon Faverolles. (I'm not very savvy about breeds, I just loved the look of the hens and their reputed friendliness, which is very very true.)

Are they blue like this?:

Oh, and I just ask where they came from because pasofinofarm on here has a mixed flock of salmon and blue salmons...don't know if she sells on ebay though, and I don't think she has here in a while...

I was taking a break from the internet and selling hatching eggs for the past several months. With cows calving and dairy goats kidding right and left and pigs farrowing and new goslings, turkey poults, ducklings and even chicks I just was barely keeping up. But I still check in on you guys from time to time

And yes I have Salmon, Blue Salmon and White Faverolles. Love them, they are just the sweetest birds ever.

I ended up keeping one salmon girl from the eggs I got from you, and her first chicks are in the brooder now. She is awesome! Here's a couple pics of her a few months ago:

If you do go the hatchery route, Meyer Hatchery seems to have the best quality Salmon Faverolles. I got a very nice rooster from them and a couple of others on here also have gotten good birds from them. Your best bet would probably be to order as many as you can stand to, let them grow a while and then pick the very best ones and sell or eat the rest.

Well I made it home from the show in Georgia. We had a wonderful time. If you guys get a chance, you need to attend this show. The hospitality is great. Even though you are in Old English country, we had a great day.
I took Champion and Reserve Champion Continental with the LF Faverolles. Then the pullet went on to win Grand Champion LF of the show. Then, for the bantams, of course I was the only one with Faverolles and did people come and look at them. After the breed classes were judged, my pullet won Reserve Champion Featherleg. I was very happy. Thanks to Matt Lhamon and Tom Carey for my great wins.

OK peeps...

I need some Bantam Salmon Fav eggs unless you are an hour or two from SWVA, then I would happily purchase chicks, started birds, etc.
I lost my 2 hens from Henry in the deep south freeze last month so I must replenish.

Is there anyone who will be looking to do some egg business in the near future? My bator will have space after 3/1.

Thanks all!

Oh no!

I heard it has been a hard winter for peeps. Even my poor roo has severe frostbite issues with his comb and wattles. The girls are great, no frostbites.

Oh wow Leisha, you DID have a great time didn't you! I was just wondering yesterday if you made it to the show okay and how you fared. Not only great that you won, but also that lots of people came to look at them. Congratulations!
