Welcome to the thread. Where did you get your Fav's from?
Dick

Thank you.

I have a highly EXCLUSIVE Bloodline for my Fav's. Its very very rare and not many people have this line. LOL. They are hatchery stock from Mc Murrays. I had bought some layers from them last year and I had half a box of dead chicks on arrival and so I had a standing credit of $50 so I got some Fav's. And to think...I had almost no hatchery stock birds Left in any of my coops and then I go order some. I'm planning on ordering some from another byc member. She has blue. I was also reading that there may be Lavender color as well. I'm sure they are out of my price range. Maybe some day.

You really wouldn't want to use him. Just mismark. Am I right Dick?

That is an oddly marked bird. I wouldn't want to use that bird. But a gray chick that turns white I would. It should be a silver white. I have a male in my coop now who as a chick was a very dark gray. He turned out white but a kind of smoky white. I will breed him this spring. I'm looking for the silver whites in my bantams. Supposedly they're not to turn yellow in the sun. We'll see.

That is possible. I gave Mike Stapish some blacks years ago. He did hatch one white male. He asked me if I wanted him and I said yes. He gave him to me at the last Crossroad show. This is the bird I used to pull my white line back. If the bird does turn out white and you don't want him/her keep me in mind.

Here's the chick in question.

Some baby pics. The down has a greyish cast so I assumed it was a splash.

Here are some pics from today. It may still be a splash but looks rather white so far. I have other splashes (one very young pullet and one hen) and they don't look this white.

So I guess we'll wait to see how this one feathers out. If it is a white you can certainly have him/her.

It looks like a white to me. The one I have in the coop was a lot darker than yours when he was a chick. He/she would give me some new blood in my white bantam line.

I am new to the chicken thing. How long does it take them to hatch? I know you are going crazy. I sure am. Crazy with excitement. What kind of chicks do you have in the bator?
