Thoughts on gender on this favorelle? Bought as sexed pullet, feathering in dark so was assuming roo. Points for roo - dark feathering, feathers coming in slow. However, hardly any comb, no pink yet to speak of. Skinny little legs. Other "pullet" from same hatchery is feathering in the same way. Just want to make sure before I rehome 'him' with the other baby roos.

Is there no feathers on the legs or it is just the picture? Sorta looks like my boys, who are just that age now, but I have a lot more color everywhere.

Just kinda fuzzy on the legs. Was hard to get a better pic. Skittish little thing.
It's a hatchery bird I took in to brood with my hatched chicks - so it could be 'hatchery' problems as usual. I've seen a couple of dark pullets from Ideal (this is McM) posted recently and all my roos are being rehomed tomorrow so thought I'd try to be as sure as I can be.

I would be comfortable saying that's a boy. I have two of each right now, and while the girls aren't light, they are not as dark as that, but the boys look very much like that. I'll be at Chickenstock if you're still looking for Favs. They have cocci right now, so they look terrible. Been on Corid for several days with almost no improvement - now I switched to Sulmet. Who knew they could get when they'd never been outside, and had no contact with others? I'll post some pics when they get better.
i am trying to hatch salmon fav eggs. i am on my second try. the first time i had temp spikes so i only had 2 chicks hatch(not favs) and this time it has been right on. i'm at day 10. i have 14 fav eggs and 12 orpington eggs in. all the orps are developing well but i only saw 1 fav egg that looks like it is developing. i left them in just in case but not looking good. they were shipped and arrived looking great. packing was impeccable. couldn't have asked for better. are these harder to hatch than others? i REALLY want some of these birds. so pretty. any advice is appreciated. thanks
I have 9 eggs hatching now! LF Salmon and Salmon Blue Favs. So far I have 5 chicks out and 3 more pipping. So excited! I'll have to post a pic of Abe, our bantam Salmon Fav rooster. He is gorgeous.
