A friend was all set to sell a blue silkie cockerel when "he" laid an egg. Silkies are just evil!
Had the same thing with my last blue Ameraucana boy, Looked like a girl for months then all of a sudden his feathers started to mature....Turkeys toooooo.

Have 3 grown babies...think 2 girls and 1 boy except the possible boy with the front tassel dumps in front of me as if wanting to be bred.....AND their mother struts around in full Tom tail and head coloration most of the time....GGEEEEZE What a zoo.....eliz

Thanks! Missed the final count of the class - some people already cooped-out. Maybe I can get it from the show report. Lots of fuss made over my pullet from long time breeders - that was very satisfying. I wish there were more shows near me! I love showing off my beautiful girls!

I want to admit here that I plan to take a cockerel I got from Kees to the Windsor show. I know this is 'bad form' in showing but I am not doing for the reasons most do. When I went to the show last year there were no LF Favs. No where on the grounds. Zip. I want to take a few of my birds that are 'different' (I hesitate to say rare now) like the Favs and the Russian Orloffs to the shows so kids and the community have a chance to see them and I get some feedback on them for future breeding. I know this is a limbo spot, because they are someone else's work and I would say that to folks ... but I am show a bird that (kees in this case) might not, so I don't want to sully her name. What are the thoughts here, and please be polite, because I really want this to be educational for me as well as those who attend the show.
