Ugh! I never thought I'd say this but my faverolles pullet is obnoxious!! She makes the WORST sound all morning. She does it when she's excited for treats, which is fine, and cute even because she gets so amped about the treats she ends up missing them because she was telling everyone about them. THAT is fine, but when she starts at 6am and doesn't stop for HOURS I don't know what to do! I grabbed her out of the run and put her in a darkened dog crate in the house just now. Haven't heard a noise from her since but she's probably scared to death (she scares easily).

Are faverolles girls a noisy breed? She's beautiful, soft, easy going, but LOUD! :(

I should add, this isn't her egg song and I think she was excited about breakfast. Like super excited. For two hours. She LOVES food. I should have named her Ms. Piggy. She's pink like a pig, too! I just hope she 1) has a distinctly different song for something being wrong and 2) the neighbors don't mind. What a loud mouth!

Chickens, like people, are individuals. There will always be some that are quiet and some that are noisy. Most of the Faverolles I have had over the years have been average noise wise. There is the occasional loudmouth, but definitely not a majority. Currently our loudest hens are a Minorca and Fav/EE mix in the kids' pet flock.

I should mentioned my cutie pie CheepCheep is no chicken. She's been bossing around the 5, month old Olandsk dwarf mates since she was 2 days old. Those rumors about Faverolles being meek...well, they weren't

My Faverolle is my noisiest bird. Of course she's hatchery quality, but still. She'd yell a lot as well, she settled down a bit after she started laying but is still noisy. She's also fairly high up in the pecking order, I'd say #2 or 3 in my flock of 9.
