Would like to also say that the trio of Mahogany Favs. that i just received from Matt appear very healthy and were sent with great care and i too had the treat of an egg in the box. Thankyou….Matt raises LF Salmon, Mohogany Salmon and Eminettes ( spell).I just wanted to let everyone know that I received absolutely beautiful pair of Faverolle pullets from Matt Hemmer of Smoky Butte Ranch. They arrived healthy and happy and even laid eggs in the box for me! The girls are beautiful and so very sweet.
Matt was excellent to deal with and very helpful in waiting for the right time to ship.
So if you are looking for non hatchery stock of Faverolles, consider Matt!

I was 100% certain CheepCheep was a boy based on his personality. He has stood up to a 5 week old brooder mate when he was 2 days old and he's never backed down for any of his 12 brooder mates.
But he's 13 days today and his wings are not black.
What do you guys think? I'm not seeing any dark colorings on his chest, neck or feet.![]()

slow grower! Haha. Supposedly 14 days of age they should get some feathering on the feet (not just fluff) and on the chest but maybe yours will need some more time. I'm assuming he/she is a Salmon variety, of course. I think you said that earlier? Patience! Time will tellHi,
10-14 days from today? He's 13 days today and I was told you can start seeing black by the 2nd or 3rd week. I don't mind a cockerel thought a pullet would be great. He must be the slowest growing chick ever! He has NOT a hint of a tail and when his wings are against his body, you can barely tell he has any wing feathers! He looks more like a 7 day old chick...very little feathering unlike his Ameracauna brooder mates who are 17 days old and are feathering quite nicely. He still looks like a chubby fat chick. Adorable as heck
