hcammack, how nice they are laying. Faverolles were developed to be good winter layers, how nice it's holding true for you; you must be doing things right.

You still have the splash boy? I thought you placed him. Has he started crowing yet?
I though I had placed him to so far the guy has not made contact with me to organize pickup I put some dates out there earlier this week but e will see.
Here are some funny pictures from today. Their eggs are being sent out for test hatching tommorow! The splash cockeral found a new home today! These are the funniest friendliest little birds.
Henry .. love your birds! I don't know how I missed this thread.
I went to pick up some eggs back in September. I wanted Marans and Ameraucana eggs .. there was some mix up and when I got there, she had sold the Marans eggs .. so we walked out to the SF house and picked up 4 fresh eggs that she threw in with my Amer. eggs for the trouble.
All 4 eggs hatched .. and they are now my favorite breed .. I've not given another thought to Marans .. *wink*
Problem is I only have ONE pullet .. I should name her Pringle .. 'case I can't have just ONE .. LOL (I know, I know .. it was really Lays potato chips .. I think .. but I'm NOT naming her Lays .. Bwa ha ha ha)
anyway .. they will be 11 weeks old on Thursday .. And I love love love them!!
I won't bore you with 100 or so other baby and teenage pics .. *grin*
looks like you got a mahogany fav there. what is that white one in front of your pullet? is that a white fav or something else? are your's LF or bantams?
here's my Chloe, my Easter chickie (hatched 4/12/09)
Thanks Henry .. I was just on your website. My "egg goal" is eggs.actly what you have. Some tinted, some blue/green, some brown. I only have the one Ameraucana Roo and am thinking about just ordering a pullet run from Ideal .. I know they'll be EEs, but it's really just the eggs I'm after.
SFs on the other hand, I would kinda like to keep good quality. I don't know what to think about the White Roo. I haven't dug into SF genetics enough to know what he is. Has to be recessive .. as she didn't have any white breeding age birds (that I saw). I'm keeping him, because I like him .. lol. (We'll see how long THAT lasts..) I'm thinking about getting some more eggs from her, or have her do a custom hatch for me so I can get some more birds from her line.
At any rate, I think they are dorky, personable, PRETTY, chunky, easy going birds .... and I LOVE them!!

Mine are LF .. she IS dark, huh? so it's really mohogany? or just a dark salmon? I'm clueless. The white roo is a fav also .. from the same hatch. He's a real dork .. I love him.
Here is is trying to figure out how to get back in the run ... dummy!
