Hi! I'm glad he found a good home. I was sorely tempted to bring him here. I already have 3 standard size roos. It's not like I really need another, but he would have been welcome. I'm sure he would have got along fine with my old handicapped BLRW roo. I would have just worried how my cranky old hens would treat him!

Im glad he has a good home. Now the tractor is less crowded and I bet he is happy to be out from under the watchful eye of the other rooster

Funny, I hatched out 3 bantam fav roos this spring. All three of them crowed, while together and with pullets too (some hatchery buff orps).

I just wish I could have hatched some fav pullets, then I would have kept at least one roo.

I think it may have been that the rooster is at least 1 year old while the splash boy is maximum 4 or 5 months old. He never crowed while with me and the hens kindof ruled over him to.

That would do it. For some reason I thought both boys were the same age.

Nope the flock ranges from 4months to a year and a half old now. I think its three hens and three pullets and the rooster.

they are amazing birds I think at least 5 of the girls are laying now so they are probably older than 4 months but that is with no artificial light I got 4 eggs today!

That's great! I have 25 girls and no one is laying. Older ones are in various phases of featherlessness, younger ones are too young (even though they're huge and 6 months old). Great, during the holiday baking season when I need eggs most.

Beautiful birds seminol! I really am in love with favs

are your girls a speacial color or just super light salmon I have one light hen maybe they are splash salmon. The other one almost looks mahogany very pretty.

Thanks, Henry. They are LF, got the eggs from Pasofinofarms. They were all supposed to be salmon. The white ones were a genetic throwback. The dark one, LOL , you know how you're supposed to know how to tell males from females at 2 weeks? She was tough since she was so dark. I'm glad I took that chance. The white ones were hard to sex as well, so I just picked the 2 with the longest tail feathers. I love them. They have great personalities, and really soft poofy feathers for those who love to cuddle their chickens!
