Thanks hcammack! Those are some beautiful looking eggs. Pink seems to be such an under appreciated color around here. And from what I understand, Meyers is the same hatchery that MPC uses to fill its orders. Now I'm really psyched!

You'd better believe it! I love all of my girls. I consider them to be my feathered children.

Oooh.. how I would be in chicken heaven if I had a basket full of PINK eggs! In chicken heaven if I had a flock of PINK birds! PINK is definitely not under appreciated here! LOL!

Pretty Eggs Henry!

I couldn't find another way to describe them they are kinda fleshy pink colored so thats how I describe them. Wish you had chickens that laid PINK eggs that would be interesting. Well they aren't as tan as the deleware eggs in that picture and I wouldn't call them brown and most people think that tinted means blue and green eggs so I was left with pinkish as a way to describe them.

Oh how I wish my two best hens were salmons but alas they are my only two blue salmon hens

I love blue salmon but like people have been saying its not recognized these two girls are just wonderful! they have type personality toe placement the best combs and best foot feathering! I am going to show them as blue salmons even though with my own salmon birds their they cannot win anything. Or maybe I will enter them in the Junior show or do showmanship. What does showmanship envolve it would be pretty funny to see someone like me who is still young but looks like they are 25 with all the 13 and 14 year old doing showmanship

Henry,
Wish I could answer that, but I am clueless when it comes to showing as I have not delved into it yet, soon though soon. Possibly this summer, we will see if I have the nerve.
I wish you all the luck and hope you have fun. Your birds are gorgeous!

Good morning, everyone!

What exactly is the "pre-show" process for showing? Don't your birds have to be individually caged and special things done to them a few weeks before show? I'm not sure...just seems like I was told that by someone.

I think it all depends on your prefrence I was asking around and was told to put each bird in an individual cage in preperation for a show in march. To be honest that's not going to happen ha ha maybe for a week or two they will be locked in the shaving filled coop and if it gets muddy I will keep them in but I don't have time or space to keep all of them seprate and I want chicks and eggs from them he he. I also heard that you should bathe them 2 or 3 days before the show.

Good luck can't wait to hear!

Yes 2 to 3 days before show is what I heard too! And you can put them in the cages at that time until the show is over and then you can let them loose again!
