I have a single LF Salmon Fav girl........she is about 21 weeks or so now. What age has everyone's elses girls start laying? I caught the big RIR rooster having his way with her yesterday, but she didn't seem thrilled

She hatched out same time as two RIR pullets and they both started laying this week.

I am so proud of my dogs! They saved the faverolles today. The fox was out stalking around the coop trying to get in but I didn't see him out in the field. I let the dogs out and they broke through their electric fence and were right up on him and chassed him into his hole and tried to dig him out. Everybody is probably thinking wow big whoop probably some sort of big athletic dog. Nope two basset hounds. I locked the flock up tight tonight hopefully the fox got a good scare.

Good dogs!

I love Bassetts. I remember one I would see every day, named Turbo. Sweet boy.

mine our Olive and Scarlet.

wooo hooo! hooray for the dogs! at least they have that fox's number! basset hounds are good at tracking things like foxes and other pests. the only thing i can expect my dog to track down are mostly rodents! and if i ever lose a chicken he would probably track it.

good thing i got those eggs from you yesterday!
