Faverolles Thread

Hmm so I guess we would have to do the same with Faverolles and all the other breeds. It just seems odd to me that certain breed which obviously have good number of splash individuals out there don't have the color accepted like Orpingtons, rocks, cochins ect..

There are more silkie breeders out there than Faverolles breeders. Their clubs membership is huge as compared to the Faverolles club, and they had a lot of members raising blues so they had the splashes. How many members do we have raising blue bantam Faverolles......3????

I agree and it takes more than three breeders to gain the splash color into admission.

Yep I think Leisha, You, me, and Cindy! and Cindy and I are just getting our birds from Leisha. Not sure there may be others I don't know about. Ya I completely understand its a struggle to get new colors in rare breeds recognized I wish more people were into faverolles they are the best and most beautiful chickens in the world. Silkies drive me crazy ha ha

I agree Henry and it takes a very dedicated breeder like you to make it work along with the great ones, like Peter, Dick and Leisha to help things along! If I had more room for starting more, I would join in. However, pet Faverolles for now LOL! I have to say they are sweet!

Oh yeah you will live that long and it would be very memorable to see your great, great, great and more great grandkids of your original flock! Take pictures and make some pedigrees out of them LOL!
