I don't think I have anything to add but it would be awesome if someone could write something about the mille fluer, ermine, and lavender projects going on I guess I could volunteer. Also Leisha could you change my info on the breeders list by removing salmon and blue salmon bantams and adding in blue, black, and splash bantams.

Thanks,
Henry

I agree Dick. Henry has a great start.

I am psyched hopefully I get 4 more to choose from next week so that will mean I have at least a dozen BBS chicks. I am glad I am getting a lot of blues it looks like they have different shades of blue in the down also that should be exciting to see how they turn out. There will be at least one more from this hatch its hatching now but hopefully I get a few more. The "british" salmons are due next week also only 3 made it this far they got scrambled during shipping.

Henry

My last hatch for the season is Wednesday, Salmons of course. Then I can just sit back and watch them grow.

Not really sure, all Jackie has is salmons

She will probably bring them to the Fav National. I'll have to take pics of them.

Ok great

Thats what is going to drive me crazy might have to give my parents a crash course in taking pictures of birds so that they can send me bi weekly updates with pictures of the birds. They will only be about a month and a half when I leave for school and I leave on vacation before that.

That hatch will be interesting to see. This hatch is 3rd or 4th generation from the british stock?

Umm I believe he said the parents were 3rd generation from British stock so this will be 4th.

Henry

I'm setting my eggs from him today. The box was a little smashed, so

Once I actually "get somewhere" with the bantam mille fleur project I'll have something to add, but it's too early yet...

Good luck setting your eggs. I will just make it short and sweet and say someone is planning on doing a millie fleur project.

Yes, it will work, that's what I was doing when I made them, but be careful, any salmon cockerels you get from the cross, you will have to get rid of them or keep them separated. They could screw up your salmon line. The pullets should be ok but I would put a special color band on them just in case. I didn't keep mine long enough so I don't know what could happen 2 or 3 years down the road.
Dick

I think I will try the mahogany line this fall. He got me going in the right direction on the buffs, now I'll try this. Why not I already have him.

I am very interested in the Mahoganys too. I have one chick that is 7 days old - its from the dark red hen whose pic I posted a few pages back. I am very curious to see if it will have her coloring or be Salmon like the roo. From the limited knowledge that I have acquired so far in my brief chicken experience, the hen's type is not that great. She does have really nice toes and a respectable beard though. Hopefully, she will pass on her color and the roo will pass on his type. Does anyone know if the black beard that turns to white is typical of the Mahogany hens? Time will tell . . I'll post pics in a few weeks.
