Scarlett hopefully you can find some like I said I will have some started birds and chicks this spring but I know you want them soon. Hatching eggs could work although its late in the year to raise chicks. Try Dick to see if his hens are still laying and Ron might have eggs not sure if they would sell eggs this time of year and since its show season there breeding pens might not even be together. Umm if that doesn't work I may be able to send you some BBS bantam eggs for the price of shipping over thanksgiving if my hens are producing then it sounded like I only had one hen laying when I talked to my Mom last and she is due for a break to. The splash pullets might start laying by then though.

Ya, I think I am hooked on them. So I will have to add more next spring. (The list keeps growing and growing!) Now I have to find someone that ships chicks for amercaunas and will I be set! lol

i've found my favs to all have different personalities. but most are very curious and will come running right up to see what i have for treats for the day. some will readily let me pick them up for a snuggle and others just trot away when they see me try and reach for them. one girl in particular bows her head for a little scratch behind her neck. i love it when mine do their 'giggle'. my oldest roo does an almost cynical laugh once in awhile when i'm working in the pen and he sees me do something dumb!

if you are close to Townsend, MA there is a swap at a fellow BYCer's house and the next one in October is supposed to be full of breeders with lots of different pure breeds and mixes. if you are looking for true amercaunas that might be a good one to ask for on the thread, i think someone has the pure ones. here's the link to a page a few days back https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=4830313#p4830313

Thanks, I know who you are talking about, I got birds from her. I wanted to go to one but never could make it. The last one I wanted to replace some birds but we had no idea what was wrong so I was afraid. I lost around 20 birds this year I tried one thing after another, hubby says the neighbor is posioning them. I didn't want to believe someone could be so mean, but just incase we fenced the run and put a tarp over it and no more died, so I guess he was right! I will ask and see if any one has them, at this point I think I would take anything! lol

I have the picture of the week!!! My Millie, my beloved Jersey Giant who passed away at age six just this past April is the pic of the week on the main BYC page!!!

Thanks! She was the first chicken I ever held, and that was when we went to buy birds! She was ten pounds, and I just adored her. She was very dignified, and unfortunately I was always messing up that image by picking her up all the time and hugging and kissing her. I do miss her terribly.
