salmon faverolle colouring, do the roo's look like they have the correct colouring as all 6 are varied

Is this more what the should be coloured like?

can anyone tale me how you sex day old salmon faverolle chicks, or older chicks ???

All salmon fav chicks hatch out yellow and the sexes look the same. Unless you're an experienced breeder you can't tell the difference as day olds. Sometimes you'll be able to tell when the wing feathers come in, but the time you'll be 100% sure is around 1-2 weeks when they sprout their first body feathers. Boys will be dark/black and the girls will be tan/salmon. The above pictures show what young birds look like and the difference in color between the sexes.

Storminstaffs, that's what young cockerels look like. They're all over the place.

I've had a couple like the one in pic #3 in the past, and currently have several with even more white (offspring from an outcross). Cloverleaf is right and you'll have to wait to see what they look like when they molt. The boys change so much on their way to adulthood.

BTW, Storminstaffs what are those crested barred birds in the background?

If anyone is interested in trying to sex some peeps for fun the hatch from the 14th is broadcasting this evening. There are 7 Salmon Faverolles in the brooder. I have my hunches as to sex but I can also be very wrong

Thanks, i'll keep 2 back from the 6 and see which one turns out the best, need to rehome the other 4 quick as my dad is complaining about the number of cockerels

The birds in the background of the pictures are young cream legbars roo's I rehomed them now though but kept the only hen from the 3 the hatched

I just decided on names for my four chicks!! Laverne, Shirley, Lenny & Squiggy.....believe me they really fit these names well! LOL
