Faverolles Thread

Just wanted to post some updated pics of my blue bantams...they are bad pics because they were taken on my cell phone AND they all cram into the back corner when I open the door....

Blue pullet with light blue boy:

You can see the elusive black pullet here and there in the other pics, but she always ducks under the boys when I reach in there so there are no individual pics of her yet.

Nice blues really makes me miss mine (darn dogs). I think your light blue male might be splash did he come from a blue x blue mating? Hope Cindy's blues are doing well I think you her and Dick are the only ones with them now.

The light blue boys coloring looks like my splash pullets that I lost.

I feel like the BBS hens are always better then the males they still need work.

Glad they are doing well are they laying? Hope your buffs are doing well.

No, he's definitely a blue, and getting darker all the time, he's actually slightly darker than the pics look. He's from Misty and all hers are together, so I don't know exactly what pairing he came from. They are still too young to lay, they are about 4 months old. Yeah, the girls are a lot better. I had a nice black cockerel, but he was really small and I lost him last week. Kassandra has them too, that's where all those except the light blue boy came from.

The buff girls are doing good. The oldest of the three is raising some Ameraucana / Silkie cross chicks, they are almost as big as her now, and the other two buff girls are sharing a nest, hatching LF Favs as I type this. Saw the first chick this afternoon.

Thats great forgot Kassandra had them. You should keep the light blue and cross him over the other line add some new blood and see what you get. Make sure you keep the chicks from that mating marked incase they turn out weird.

It sucks that i can not find any other people in canada (besides the breeder i got mine from) that have bantam Salmon faverolles

I have the feeling i am going to run out of wiggle room with these faverolles. The breeder has been breeding them for 15 years, and i am not sure if he ever added any new stock.
