I used a LF buff Orpington this year to cross with my buff bantam Faverolle girls. I have one cockerel growing out still (almost old enough) that has a nice beard / muffs and feathered legs. He'll be going back in with the buff girls in a few months...

Judging at our district fair today:

Open champion featherleg-pullet and reserve champ featherleg-hen
Junior champion featherleg-hen and "3rd best bantam of show" (not really sure why they "awarded that" but we'll take it)

Also champ and reserve english and best duck and champion waterfowl

It wasn't a big show but at least we finally beat some of these dang cochins and brahmas! HAHAHAH

Annslee also did her showmanship today with her fav hen but haven't gotten results of that yet.......

I am sad to say my little Laverne is missing. No trace of her whatsoever. Tonight will be 48 hours she is gone. It is so odd because her and her sibling do not wander far at all. They are either in the barn or only a few feet away from the barn and they always stick together. Poor Lenny is lonely because she was his girl and Shirley doesn't know what to do with herself either. The night she went missing the flock seemed fine and did not seem distraught that a predator was lurking around. She is the only one gone and she was one of them that stuck very close by. I have never had any predator problems here so far. It just has me puzzled of what might have happened to her. She is not the type to hide somewhere and I looked everywhere that I could think of and no sign of her whatsoever!
