Just thought I'd chime in here. We used to breed salmon faverolles from a few lines that when combined gave great birds. Over time we got out of them but wanted more and lucked out at a swap a few weeks back. A fellow BYC member (cant remember her name, sorry) had a few hens she wanted to rehome, they can trace back to one of our originals. We got them home and they are awesome. There are 3, one isnt pure but could pass for a pure bird from lesser lines. She has a HUGE beard and looks normal other than some black in the beard and the best part-she lays green eggs! She is out of an EE cock on salmon faverolle hen but shows no sign of the EE other than the green eggs. We are planning in getting some chicks this spring and if we luck out and get a good rooster we will breed the green egger hen to him. It would be awesome to have a line of green egg laying salmon faverolles.

DANG!!!!!!!! How did I miss that. I was down there looking at them and I think ya'll are right. I think I can see saddle and hackle feathers starting. I always thought she was a badly colored girl. Anyway back on topic. I got some pics. What quality do ya'll think they are. I am not sure if I am gonna sell any of them or not but, I was curious what I should ask just in case. If I just sold the Salmon roo what should I ask? If I sell the salmon roo with a splash pullet what should I ask? If I sell all four as a group what should I ask?

OKAY now for pics. Sorry this will be pic heavy.

Wow - I don't know how I missed it before but that salmon boy has NO beard and HUGE wattles - which is a big no-no. That paired with his missing toenail (which is genetic and he would most likely pass that on to his offspring) I would not breed from him. If you didn't have another male to use, I would say use him and cull HEAVILY for beards and toenails.
If you end up selling the birds, I would sell the girls with the splash boy for probably $30, while the salmon girl could be shown, none of the offspring would be "show quality" due to the fact that they would all be blue salmon or splash salmon, neither of which are recognized varieties. You could throw in the salmon boy as a freebie with them, but I would probably try to rehome him separately to someone not interested in breeding for show, who just wants a backyard roo or who has a mixed flock already.

eta: do you mind if I use a couple of your pics??

Yeah, probably. If the male was at least a blue salmon, which would give you some salmon offspring I would go higher. Also, you have to consider that they will be worth more once the girls are laying, and from what I saw there are a couple toes that are a little too close together.

I have a trio of blue salmons for sale right now for $50, but the two girls have PERFECT toes, and all being blue salmons, they will produce salmon offspring, which can be shown, and they are all one year old and producing well. Plus, I have some of their offspring, so I have proof of the quality of babies they will produce.

While I've got you here - do you know what's up with Tim? I was supposed to be getting a trio of blue / black bantam Sumatras from him, and then he just quit PMing me back....

I'm not sure, we used to talk on the phone often but havent talked to him on the phone since August and last messaged him about a month ago. I hope you can contact him soon! We also have bantam black/blue sumatra bantams and will have eggs in the spring if you'd be interested. Tim has birds from us in his stock and we have some of his blood in our stock
