Even though we are IM'ing on FB, I'll answer here too, so others can see it...
I have a large group that's got a black cock over black and blue hens, and a trio that's a blue cockerel over a blue and a black pullet.
I hatched one chick early on that ended up being a cockerel, that started out looking like he was going to be mottled...black and white leg feathers, white spots on his chest, but then he developed a bunch of silvery hackle and saddle feathers, almost like he has salmon back there somewhere...in short, he's a mess. LOL
I currently have 2 chicks in my brooder that I'm also growing out to see what they are going to look like, because their stripes were different colors (one brown and one blue) these are only about 4 weeks old, so don't know what they are going to do yet.
I have a bunch of eggs that I set this week, with the timing of these hatches, I will be able to do a much better job of sorting the eggs at lockdown and being more aware of exactly which chick came from which egg so we can try to get this mess figured out ASAP!
