Cute babies :) It seems like you just got these kids - how can they be that size already?!

I can't tell for certain, but the dark one in front looks "beardless" - or is it just the angle ;)

I hope everyone weathered the storm well! We were fortunate that nothing drastic occurred around RI! Just allot of wind and rain! But I was just wondering if anyone was planning on going to the Boston Poultry Exposition November 3rd and 4th? I'm bringing 5 Faverolles and my sister is bringing a Sultan and 5 Bantam lemon blue Cochin's! I was just hoping that there would be some other Faverolle breeders at the show other than my own! Ive never seen any other Faverolles in person other than ours! Thanks hope Hurricane Sandy hasn't been to destructive!

I'm stopping by to look around, but I don't have anything entered. Even if I had planned to bring something I wouldn't be able to bring them. Just got power restored this afternoon, so no time left to prep anything. Now that we finally have running water again got to get caught up on laundry, dirty dishes, refilling waterers. And did I mention laundry? Plus we have the remains of a 50 foot oak to deal with, one that almost landed on one of my coops.

Hey, there you are! Been wondering how all of you were faring over there.... a couple of people have posted since the storm hit....

A 50 foot Oak? That's gi-normous.

The girls you sent are doing great! I love 'em.... if it wasn't so nasty, I'd post some pics of them.... I have to PM you and have you remind me of their lineage so I can record it in my breeding records.....

The darker girl really took to my roo, she nuzzles under his breast and practically crawls under him sometimes :)

The lighter one is very shy, I had to make sure she didn't get picked on too bad when I first introduced the girls. She stays by herself a lot, it bothers me. I've seen the roo go over to her and talk to her and visit with her when she's off alone...

glad to hear a tree was your only casualty, we were very lucky here as well, just lost a fruit tree sapling and a HUGE branch off of a big oak in the back yard

Yeah, 50 foot oak, completely uprooted, that almost landed on the coop where I keep my original birds from Dick. Luckily it got hung up on two smaller pines on the way down, and the top half of those pines landed next to the coop instead of on it. I also have a small maple down up against the door of the kids' bantam coop. Nothing down on the house at least though I was worried about that. We slept at the other end of the house Monday night. Never heard winds like that around here before.

We fared better than our neighbor across the street. She had fifteen 30-50 foot pines come down - also completely uprooted. Missed her house but totalled both cars. Huge trees are down everywhere.

The darker girl is older by 2 months. Should be getting ready to lay soon. The lighter girl is not quite 5 months old yet. You have a nice boy to go over and talk to a young pullet! Hopefully she'll gain some confidence as she matures.

I think it's just the age. They can often look beardless at that age, but I think he'll grow one fine from what I can see. :)

Glad your family and birds are all alright.

That is funny about the lighter girls. My two girls from you are much larger and more aggressive then the others. Probably because they are bigger then them and maybe older. The most aggressive of them all is the darkest pullet from Dick. She loves to challenge the adult laying hens (not a good idea) Luckily she hasn't gotten out with them yet.
