Yes those too. He loves Grisham and some others anything that has to do with guns and war, he loves the history and military channel enough to drive me crazy sometimes. A girl can only have so much history and guns.... Every year for the past 3 yrs we have had to get a new gun. Lord.

How many pages can we use to list our favorite writers?????? I am a voracious reader and I love all kinds of books. I can't believe noone mentioned James Herriot!!!! I must confess, I am an adult who loves Harry Potter books also!

Pearl S. Buck
Rumer Godden
Harper Lee
Robert Newton Peck
James Herriot
Louis L'Amour
Dick Francis
Laura Ingalls Wilder
Arthur Conan Doyle
Catherine Cookson
Mary Higgins Clarke
Steinbeck
Tolkein
I couldn't list them all!!!

Well, you get the picture! If I had to admit to it, my books have been my longest and dearest friends!
If I had to estimate how many books I have read, I would have to put it in the 10s of thousands range. We never had electricity or running water when I was growing up....no TV, no music, etc. Books became my entertainment and I will reread them often and its like visiting with an old friend!

Jean Auel.... crap, I don't know if I spelled her name right.

Anyways, she wrote the "Earth's Children" series about a chick living in the ice age.

Also, J.K. Rowling. I don't care that it's a kids book. It's fantastic, lol.

And for weird, dramatic grocery-store type novels, V.C. Andrews. I really liked her "Heaven" and "Flowers in the Attic" series.
