Favorite backyard mixed chickens?

I wanted to post my pic of my Chocolate Egger (CE). She is still pretty young, but I am hopeful she lays a rich brown egg. Her mom is a Black Copper Marans and dad is a Welsummer. She came from a richly dark egg.

I hope she lays eggs that are as pretty as she is.

She's really sweet too. This picture doesn't do her justice. How sad is it that I am eager for spring already and it isn't even winter yet! All of these pullets should be laying eggs by then...I can't wait!

Okay, I've got one for you....

A bearded, blue cuckoo cochin

He's not quite 4 months old, and was supposed to be a blue cochin.... but lo and behold a beard appeared!!! And in the sunlight, his feathers have a cuckoo or crele kind of two tone blue pattern. He has huge feathered feet, and is just an enormous shy/sweet puffball.

ok, sweet personality and a beard! i'm thinking they had faverolles in the flock with the cochins! i'd say to work with it and breed it back to some more favs to work on a new/rare color here in the US!
