Favorite breed poll

Leghorns in their many varieties - by far the most beautiful and productive of all chicken breeds.

Australorps are my favorite standard breed. They are terrific all round chickens; friendly and docile, heat and cold hardy, and great layers of large, brown eggs. Who could ask for anything more? I like Black Sex Links (Black Stars) equally well for the same reasons, but of course they are hybrids, not standard breeds.

Just put your favorite chicken breed and you can tell why, if you want to. No arguing, rudeness, or anything else that's against BYC rules. But... HAVE FUN!!!!!!

Even though none of them are my favorites (Australorps are), there are some other great breeds that could have been on this list (Welsummers, Polish, Marans, etc.) and even if making the list too long is a concern, I am surprised that Rhode Island Redsand Plymouth Rocks are not on the list.
