favorite chicken died

I found my favorite chicken dead today. no aparent reason why. she was 1 1/2 yr. old. good weight healthy looking, no oozing or weezing or signs of bad health. great looking bird. what could of happened? no sign of attack she was in a pen with 7 other chickens. don't think she was egg bound. any ideas?

I'm so sorry. She may have had a heart attack. I had a truly joyous, seemingly healthy hen (who had laid eggs up till the day she died) die form an apparent heart attack before she reached her second birthday (RIP Annie). She either had a heart defect and/or an egg she was attempting to lay on her last day was too big and she got heart failure trying

A necropsy would hopefully tell you for sure, if you want to pursue.
