favorite hatchery?

My pet chicken is where I got my birds, all healthy and customer service was excellent. I've heard Cackle Hatchery is good too. Originally I called Ideal Poultry but found the person who answered the phone was about the rudest person on earth and I swore to never give them my business again. Also heard that Ideal's birds are not healthy. I've heard mixed reviews about McMurrays.

I like MPC because you can order 3 or more birds, whereas with the other hatcheries you're stuck ordering 25, which is alot of birds for a small backyard hobbiest. :) Good Luck

Cackle Hatchery, or Privett Hatchery.
Murry Mcmurry is way to $$$$ Plus I've always lost like 20 in one week and I've always got sick ones! Hate that hatchery!

Meyer Hatchery is okay - but my friend lost half of hers in 1 week and she ordered 75 + Chicks!
My Pet Chicken is okay as well

But I always wonna order 50 + chicks so ...

Love Ideal, it's the only hatchery I've ever ordered from. Their customer service is great and I've never had a problem with the chicks I've ordered. All healthy, lively little babies

Privett is only 1 hour from my house. I've tried to order from them, but no one answers the phone or my e-mails, nor will they send me a catalog. So forget it.

I ordered 17 slow broilers and 8 hens from Welp and they were shipped on the 25th of Aug. They arrived on the morning of the 27th all very healthy. They included an extra Barred Rock and an extra broiler. All are very healthy and growing like weeds. I've had NO TROUBLE and am very pleased with Welp's chicks. The only complaint that I had was the extra charge for my hens. I ordered 8 different breeds so they charged me an additional fee for each hen. Not exactly sure why but I'm am pleased. I only had a couple of the broilers get a slight case of pasty butt that lasted about a day so it wasn't a problem. They will be two weeks this Wednesday and they already have lots of feathers and very healthy.

I love Meyers-orderd 25 broilers and sent 26-they are 5 weeks old now and no problems yet:)
Iv'e ordered from Ideal got what I ordered with a few extra-great birds
thats it-

I ordered from healthychicksandmore.com out of Ohio. There is no postage and handling fees and you are guaranteed healthy chicks on arrival. I ordered 15 with one rare breed and I got 17 (incase one died I guess). All were healthy and happy. Good luck!

It says on Welps website that if you order less than 5 of one breed they charge a fee. We ordered Barred Rocks, Black Sexlinks, and Buff Orps. I can't wait to see them!
