Favorite thing YOUR chickens do!

My favorite thing my chickens do is when I'm holding something or taking a picture of them, they tilt their head and look at me with one eye. I think it's so funny! What's your favorite thing your chickens do?

I love it when my rooster Oreo jumps on my bikes handlebars and waits for me to give him a ride lol

So many things I love about my chickens! I love that they will sit next to my back door waiting for me to open it, and when I do, they think they can just march inside! I swear they think they are people sometimes, haha!
I love that they insist on cuddle time from me before they roost for the night

They peep and cluck and squak until I come outside, then they run to me and each get their turn to be pet before I lock them up.

I also love when they are dozing off and they trill contently, that makes my heart smile.

But I have to say my very favorite thing is what Sassy, my BO, does. She is 100% a mama's girl, and in the afternoons when I go out to spend time with them, I will sit down and cluck to her, and she clucks back at me and comes running over and jumps in my lap. She then proceeds to "cluck cluck cluckity cluck" as if she is telling me all about her day, while I hold her and pet her. I have had this go on for almost an hour at times. Then when she is done talking, she will lay her head on me, either on my arm, my lap, or my chest. And when she is done with snuggle time, she will hop down and carry on.

I load up the feed and water in a little trailer I pull behind my lawn tractor to go feed my chickens. A lot of times in the afternoon I let them out to free range while I sit on the lawn tractor and watch them. When they go in the coop for the night I throw them a little scratch. Sometimes one of the hens or a certain rooster will jump up on the hood of the lawn tractor then sit on the steering wheel and look at me. I think they are saying, "Shhh...I know you brought food. Give me some and I won't tell anybody else." lol It's even funnier because none of them like to be touched at all. They don't mind being close but "no touching"! Sometimes they pretty much mob me on the lawn tractor. They will be half a dozen or more all over it. But "no touching!" ...except for standing on my feet. lol

I like it when mine chase eachother around and steal treats from eachother. Also when they dustbathe in flower pots!

I love when my hens chase me through my pasture as I'm walking to my barn, thinking i have food! Then of course my mini horse chases them with her ears back and head down, they run. It's so cute!

I love it when I squat down and my 2 Buff Orps hop on my shoulders to say "Hello". Last night I did this and one of my girls found my eye "interesting and sparkly". . . . . I had to visit the eye doctor with a laceration to my cornea!

The hardest part was telling the physician that I was "pecked by a chicken". The look on his face. . .. .priceless.
