FDA raids Amish Farm

Well... Look's like you can blame Michigan for all the hubbub about raw milk.

Michigan
Raw milk sales are illegal. Michigan was the first state to pass mandatory pasteurization laws—the year was 1948—and has some of the strictest milk laws on the books. Farmers may not even sell raw milk from the farm. In 2002, at hearings on the revision of the Michigan State Dairy Code, the industry attempted to amend the code to make it illegal for dairy farmers, their family members, their farm workers, and even their farm animals to drink the farm's raw milk. This plan was fortunately dropped, due to the efforts of dairy farmer Chuck Oliver and members of the local chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation.

Part of that quote I think needs extra attention.

I didn't think it was possible, but I live in a really messed up state. If the farm animals can't drink the milk, how are you gonna feed the calves?
And all this time I was getting free raw milk from my Grandparents.

Risk? statistically, you are 2,000 time more likely to get sick eating raw veges or drinking pasturized milk, then you are if you drink raw milk.

If you look at the USDAs stats on illness related to pasturized milk, its staggering.
But they have very low numbers for raw.
I know what my choice is.

That is why cow shares are used in MI, as well as many other states, including mine. It skirts the issues.
I do know of one state, that if you have a neighbor over, you are not allowed to serve them raw milk. Crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raw milk is probably great and healthy, but milk is pasteurized for good reason. One of those reasons is a bacteria called Listeria. It's not unusual for Amish women to give birth to babies that are infected with Listeria, and requiring treatment in a neonatal icu. And it comes from raw milk. It's a nasty bacteria and can cause meningitis as well, and possibly death.

If I was a raw milk consumer, I would want to know that the seller had a permit, and has his milk checked for bacteria counts as well. Raw milk is not sterile, it does contain bacteria, hopefully not enough to make someone sick.

I'm not a doctor or an expert on illnesses, but I am skeptical whenever anyone adds the word "cure" to any single food or product. Cocaine was a cure for a child's moodiness and Heroine was a cure for sleeplessness. Now they are both illegal, addictive and deadly drugs.
Autism is still highly misunderstood and an unknown as to how it develops, how it affects people and how to treat it. Those with low grade autism may only need a better diet and a little more personal attention, while those with a high grade autism may need to be supervised and medicated all their life.
There isn't an end all, be all cure for mental disorders and abnormal psychologies. Some problems can be treated with diet and exercise, others require medication and the most extreme are helped by electro-convulsive therapies.

If there has been a conclusive study, not just a co-relational one, on the benefits of raw milk as a treatment for behavioral issues, deafness and autism I would like to see it.

What's an "open carry state"?
Sorry - a bit law-illiterate here.

Packing visible heat is allowed.
Basically, you can carry a handgun on your side.
We also have this law.

I agree. If only it was that easy.

We'd all love to find the "magic pill" to health but it's way more than that - diet, lifestyle genetics and a lot of unknowns.
