Why did this happen to my 22 week old buff? She has several wing feathers that look like they have been eaten or are hard to the touch. Today, this one was sticking out in the completely wrong direction and when I went to put it back in her wing, it came out. I have never seen a feather come out with a tip like that… Help please

Some of my buff Orpington look rougher than others. Some have softer feather structure than others. My guess is the squiggly tip is the remains of the vein that used to feed the feathers. Young birds go through multiple molts as they grow.
