Feathers growing back with color change

One of my hens lost almost her entire tail in a severe pecking and feather eating incident two months ago. She's been mostly isolated since (also went broody and is raising chicks now). The tail feathers are growing back but they're pure white. The hen is dark grey barred with a copper colored chest. The old tail was barred. Why is that? Will she get her normal color back when she molts?

Sometimes they initially grow back without color, not sure why though, it seems linked to injuries. My guess is the tissue itself is healing so pigment isn't put into the feathers. I would expect they will straighten out at the next molt, but you never know.
