FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

So I am on day 15, so lockdown on thursday, and possibly a hatch on sunday!

But for some reason whenever I hatch silkies they ALWAYS hatch on day 19. Just silkies. Whenever I hatch any other breed, they hatch right on time! So I don't know, I may just have some baby silkies on friday!

I am the same way..silkies a day early, LF on time. That's ok. :)) Good luck!

Well, I have decided with the next bunch going in this week I will use my much more expensive gauge for temp/humidity. I am also tossing out the egg turner and doing it by hand. (Or in egg crates on books) I have 12 BR, 24 Silkie, 12 assorted bantams, and 24 mixed eggs all ariving in the next few days. I clearly need a third incubator!!!! Ive gone hatching mad!!!

Well, the one bantam egg that I set with the BCM is showing really good devlopment! Hoping the BCM's are as well. I also took a quick peek at the two shipped bantam Langshan eggs I have that are on day 5 - both showing development! Very excited, can't wait to look at the rest of the shipped eggs on Thursday (day 7)

the 8 I put in there a day after the first and I have been hand turning them almost ALL have veining starting already....I think I am already sold that hand turning is better! (thats kinda what momma hens do right??)

I am glad to hear encouragement to not use a turner....I already have a future trade set up for it! (polish!!!)

I hand turned both my hatches and only has two eggs not hatch the first time and one this time. The second time was just shipped eggs so I tried the egg carton. I cut the bottom of the carton down and cut holes in the bottom of each cup. For turning all I did was push the eggs to the opposite side 3 times a day. I was terrified of hatching that way and it worked amazingly well. Anyways, just explaining what I did as I know it's hard to decide.

Anyways, happy hatching and can't wait to see your babies!!
