FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

Hi, Today is Monday, Feb 4th.......I am putting 2 dozen salmon calico wheaten from my project Silkies.

It gets to be very exciting because the colors that hatch are awesome. I purchased my rooster from April at Brody's Broodello.

All my hens are from Karen Larson. April has been working on the color project for years.

Wish me luck,
Barbara/Ohio

Can't wait to see these chicks!!

It's me again........forgot to finish my sentence in previous post.

I meant to say that I was putting 2 dozen eggs in incubator tonight.

Old age is certainly not for "sissies"......I spend so much time trying to remember what I forgot!

can't wait to see how those colors look!

i have 7 lavender Ameraucana eggs and 12 salmon favorelles in bator now do to hatch on the 19th and one standard chochin cant wait to see these guys candled tonight and all looks well

Hey all, I have 18 eggs from a mixed flock of Americana and black copper Marans due on the 24. This is my second attempt, my first attempt ended badly. I tried setting 18 store bought free range eggs, turned out 17 were infertile and I had 1 that stopped developing around day 12 or so :(

Temps are holding fairly steady in my home made incubator and I am using some local eggs this time so I'm hoping for something :)

I just want to cry!! I thought yesterday I had one egg with a funky shaped air cell (u shaped) but I recandled tonight and took more time and out of 7 eggs in the bator one has a somewhat normal air cell!! So, in my disappointment I ran outside to candle the same shipped eggs under my broody hen and out of the 6 under her maybe 2 have decent air cells!! A couple of her eggs have air cells so big that I'm not even sure there is a viable chick in there and if so, not sure how!!

So disappointing!! Has anyone had a successful shipped egg hatch with crazy air cells??
