and my TSC told me that they get hatchery chicks that are "straight run" but usually AFTER direct orders have been filled at the hatchery, and, since most people are not buy a crapload of Roos straight from the hatchery, they have an excess of the little guys usually.

If I am gonna take chances like that, I'll take them in my incubator....

although I think I just killed everything in my 'bator....and now BOTH my thermometer/hydrometers are reading completely different again. Ugh. Trying to stay positive.

and yes, lets hear the sexing secret!

Anyone know how accurate the 'float test' is? I've heard about it, but never did it b4, so I looked it up again to get directions a few min ago. IF this is correct, then all 3 of my eggs are still good! Not only were they 'low floaters', they were also rocking around. It says if they do that it is definitely good eggs- Lordy I hope that is right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not one to wait, I would have pipped one by now..I don't bother with the water tests, candling, tapping, I just pip at this point.

Have saved many a chick by helping them out when nothing is happening. The blood vessels are usually pretty much dried up at this point, and it isn't long helping them out. My way. :D
