FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

No there is no heat source but at night the two other hens an rooster in the pen all cuddle around her because they are silkies and don't like to roost so I imagine its pretty warm at night. And yes it is dry
Well good, then she & the eggs should be fine!

Ok here are my Isbar babies! Still in the shell, but doing GREAT!!! I am so happy they are doing so well. They are big chicks. I've had to help a tiny bit, even w/ humidity up the membrane dries so I q-tip warm water on it & roll back onto the shell. Seems to free them up a little. No blood, veins are drying up well. Sorry 2nd pic blurry- more pics later as progress made

Awesome!!! Good luck!!

U

Ugh I know this but I'm stubborn and freaking out!! Lol

I did open it to make sure there wasn't any pips I couldn't see and found the chirper...no external pip just internal and the one that's chirping has the worst air cell of them all!! It's a huge "u" and he started of chirping so loud and I couldn't hear anything for a while and the only way I heard it chirp when I opened was to delicately put it to my ear!

Yes, I know I shouldn't have opened but I threw warm wash clothes and sponge in there to keep the humidity up.

Do I assist at a certain point since its air cell is so huge??
Cami, listen- do not open bator anymore! If you have what you think is an emergency PLEASE let someone here talk you though it 1st! If it has a big air cell, it's good- more air for it to breath If you are hearing peeps then it's pipped internally, if you open bator you WILL shrink wrap the chick & the other ones. Just calm down, it's gonna be a long wait- there's a lot going on in that shell- let it do it's thing- please, I don't want you to go through what I did! I lost all the chicks in the hatch b/c I had to open several time to save Sugar Peeps. Tho I love her, believe me you will feel like crap if the others die-

Yea she was the only blue they had at that time also. She's my only one and my bf's favorite so I completely understand. Fingers crossed that you have pair...then I might be bugging you for a chick or hatching egg lol
Well there's an idea- & I don't think you live too far from me. S. Ms, & I'm S. La. I have a lot of family in Ms.
