Here I was at 4 in the morning getting ready for a craft fair and I decide to check on the eggs one more time and I found an egg had pipped and I could hear chirping!!! Then another egg beside it was rocking and rolling around!!! I'm so happy I can barely contain it. If it wasn't for the fact that my hubby had just went to sleep (he was so kind as to help me with my last minute rush) I would have squealed loudly!!!! Then I get up this morning and a second egg has pipped!! I broke out the video camera since I'll be gone all day. I want to catch it hatching if I can.

If they had just pipped then you have a good chance that they won't hatch until you get home. FOr some reason this time around all of my eggs are pipping and taking almost 24 hours to start zipping.

2 hatched last night one of them took over 14+ hours from pip to out. Woke up to another pip this morning! These silkies are slow hatchers.

Hopefully the chick is doing better this morning. I am thinking it's just needing the extra rest. As long as it's not peeping in distress I wouldn't worry to much. Some of them just need more time to recoup.

My little chick, Mini, did the same thing. By the next day it was much better. It seems to help him more once he was dried off & rested for a day after such a longggg hatch process.

So the power stayed throughout the night!!!!! Hoorrraaayyy like all areas around me are out

problem now- soo much snow it's going to take hours to get just the fowl yard area cleared & all the fencing fixed from tree branches weighing down on them from all the snow

somewhere between 18 &24in right now & suppose to keep on coming till this evening.

Omg look at all these babies today!!!! I am so jealous!!! If these eggs do anything of mine I will be shocked, I expected issues with the lg but this is insane temp wise!!!
