FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

All of these have the fuzzy feet, except the one that I like has less feathering on the feet/legs.
I don't care, I just want her to be a her. And, three of them have puffy faces! These eggs
had that watery stuff wriggling around on the bottom of the egg when I first candled..not all
but most all of them. Two of them made it to hatching, and the watery fluid, or what I
call the gobledy goop, wasn't wriggling around when time for lock down. Little worried
that when they pipped, they would drown in thick goop like I've had chicks do before when
I've had that watery look in the bottom. But all 5 in lock down made it. Pretty happy
with that. I kept the humidity down lower than usual the last week of incubating. In the teens
to see if that would help. Must have. :)
Aww they are very pretty, love the colors!

OK I know the drill, don't get upset, nervous, anxious- be patient blah, blah, blah- BUT here we go again, day 21 and NOTHING! I only have 3 isbars made it to lock down, so I am really hoping they all 3 make it, 1 was rocking around yesterday, but nothing today.

I've been keeping the humidity high considering all the shrink wrapped chicks lately. I'm thinking maybe they are taking longer b/c until a week ago I didn't know my temp was too long- thanks to crappy therm.
Guess I just needed to vent

I just set some eggs in the incubator for a Feb. 27th hatch. I also have some eggs in my small incubator due to hatch in 12 days.. I believe Sunday the 17th they are due.

There are 3 in the small incubator. I had 7 but 4 from my silkies turned out to be infertile. So I'm left with 3 blue birchen Marans.

In the large incubator I have the following..

7 - black copper Marans
6 - blue birchen Marans
4 - blue/black birchen Marans
2 - Light Brahma

Fingers crossed for a good turnout. :)

My babies hatched! There are chicks from 3 different hens here but the father of all of them is the rooster I have as my profile picture :)

:fl   Sending you some good hatch vibes! I know how you feel. Since Dec. I've had 5 diff sets of eggs go to lock down (I'm on #6 now) out of all of those I only had 6 live chicks. 4 lav orps the other night, they died a few hours after hatching, 2 never made it out of the shell. 1 lav orp who died on day 3, and 1 very healthy & beautiful silkie chick. I think that's the reason I'm so attached to the silkie, she's my little survivor! I didn't know until last week that my humidity & temp were too low... And I did cry- every time! :hit
So I am praying you & I & everyone else will have great hatches, it's so upsetting to wait so long for the little fluff butts only to end up w/ nothing...
I am waiting patiently for them to pip. I cried over my first batch too. This is my second attempt! I have been praying hoping and wishing that at least a few make it. Don't think I can handle an empty nursery this weekend

Wow! Everyones chicks are hatching and I'm on day 12... still a bit to go!

Seeing all those cute balls of fluffiness makes me so antsy for my own!
