Why thank you! I was thinking Thursday next week but I don't think I can wait that long to at least do a few and see. Maybe Sunday!

I was looking at Saturday next week and then Wednesday. Day 10 to be utterly sure of clears and blood rings and day 14 to try and weed out any quitters. And compare air cell size. You MIGHT be able to twist my arm into a 7 day candle, just to see who is doing what...

I'm a little worried about my eggs

everything was going good until lockdown on Tuesday I couldn't get the humidity up past 54% then you all suggested the wash cloth... Thank you for that by the way. The humidity held for 2-3 hours before I went to bed, I woke up to the humidity at 74%!!!! I removed the wash cloth waited had remove some water, it didn't get to good temp until that evening. I woke up this morning to it in the 50's I was able to get it back up and it is holding they hatch tomorrow but I'm worried... No eggs wiggling and no cheeping. (I didn't see that last year too) do you think they will be fine? I'm worried they won't hatch and I spent alot of money on those darn eggs

I think the higher and lower humidity wont hurt them unless they had a star crack already
Some ppl dont raise it until they see a crack. Dont worry about that. But 74 that isnt THAT bad They say it can be 80 although most ppl run it about 65-70 When they start to hatch it often goes up to 75. the humidity fro m the eggs.High at lock down is better than too low once they are pipped

What day is it.? Shipped dont do really well often you may just get a few but hopefully you will get some I have spent a lot too I just figure i hope to get at least a boy and a girl so i can make my own later !!! Anything over that is a bonus LOL
Has your temp been around 99.5 the whole hatch and humidity about 40 ish?(until lockdown?)
If so you have done all you can do.
Put your wash rag back in maybe dont open quite as wide. or it may be fine now if you took some other water out.Make sure your vents are all open if you are on day 18-22 and dont give up too soon

I have 13 in will be hatching the 27th first hatch of the year!!!! warm-up for the easter hatch-a-long lol.

yay! another hatch twin! (but I think now we would all be triplets, lol)

I'm actually down to 9 now... I wen out today an the silkie girls had laid 2 more... I decided that I really don't want to hatch the comet eggs, I really just wanted more silkies, so I took out the comet eggs

and felt horrible about it... but now i've got 8 silkies and 1 cochin egg in there, 9 is a good number to start off the year with, especially since A. this is a test run for the easter hatch, and B. .... TCS is getting chicks in next week and i have no self control in that store so I'm sure to come home with at least 6....

Ok, I will let you know when I do candle mine. I might do one or two sunday but Thursday is when I planned to candle them all! Sounds like I might not have to do to much twisting LOL!!!!

I am so excited and nervous at the same time! I so hope that they do good!!!!!! Then day 14 and then 18 and then of course lockdown!

so those little tiny newbie fart eggs can grow babies too? I know that sounds stupid, but I figured they would be too small!

they weren't the teeny eggs but they were on the small side. Compared to whatthey are laying now I would say that the first eggs were about 1/4-1/2 size smaller than they are now

awww i know, i felt SO bad picking and choosing who went in the bator yesterday i went and bought another one today!!! LOL!!!

I wont buy any chicks from TSC bc their Roo count is SO high its not worth it....but I *will* be in there playing with them, lolol!!!

By 8 days left i am going to have to lock myself away from them!!! LOL!!!
