FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

Dont have a pic crummy camera...
By day 11 they should be at least half dark iniside they arent brown you should see veins at day 7
i guess some at 11 too but i rarely see them on brown eggs
I just go by size of the dark form in the egg. or a clear egg then is infertile. Day 17 egg should be almost or ALL totally dark maybe see an air cell on my brown sometimes dont see that even. just al ldark.

Go to Sallysunshines page and she has all sort of pics of different things during incubating I am sure you will find pic of eggs at diff stage so you know what you should see ..
how do i find this page??

Congrats to everyone with new babies! And to the new hatching Mommas, patience is a HUGE virtue! Wait, sit, don't touch, and wait some more. I'm still waiting. On day 12 here now (set 10, have 7 still going strong..one was set a day after the rest so it'll be hatching last I imagine) and I have finally, after several hatches, learned to *forget* they are in that incubator, unless I am turning them. Makes life less stressful. My Hovabator 1602 N seems to be a set it and forget it bator. I know others have trouble with these cheap still air ones, but I love this silly thing. Might have to buy a second one once my younger pullets start laying >.>
I'm in the same boat as you. Day 14, and my mind has just blocked out the fact that I have eggs in the incubator unless I go check on the temperature.
I decided this time around I was only going to candle 3 times: Day 7, Day 11, and Day 15. Then I'm done. It has taken a lot of self control to leave those eggs alone! My Brinsea is doing its job well though, so I just need to relax and let the eggs do their thing

Here are the newest hatchlings from my broody this morning. She has one more pipped under her, and I have 4 more pipped in the bator. So, so far of my 13 shipped eggs that made it to lock down...5 chicks and 5 pipped...not a bad hatch rate at all if these pipped babies make their way out. Today is day 21! Come on babies!!!

It's probably ok. They can take a long time from pip to hatch sometimes even 24 hours. I'm sitting on my hands as I have 4 pipped right now. Good luck and happy hatching!
