I checked a little better & it's attached to the cord. Do they eat that? Nothing was attached yesterday with my 1st hatch. I looked & it looks ok as long as it will dry up; skin is intact.

It should dry up, normally all that is absorbed back in the 'navel' then it closes over

well i went and did it agian went to tsc and pick up some speckled sussexs today and my buff barham eggs came in today and when was marked for a hold to and what did they do they put them in my front seat of my car and two of them were cracked but the person sent some extras that covered the two that were cracked so it went alright u guess what is up with these post offices these days

Maybe your mailman could use some cookies too - perhaps with some "special" chocolate in them....

....I have to ask though - would you be interested in some free barnyard mix eggs? I have this awesome box to mail them in and I'm pretty sure even your mailman couldn't hurt them in this....... I'd gladly mail them to you. I feel so bad for your plight! I don't have anything super special in my flock - EE's, BR's, RIR's, BSL - with a very friendly BO roo and a BR roo - so there is a possibility of pure BR's out of the lot.......I've got 23 of my own eggs ready to hatch early next week so I know I have good fertility.

Night of day 20..Orp x Brahma mix and Los are in...a orp x brahma just started getting a pip .

The rest nothing yet.
One LO had been out in 20 degree cold and another 40 degree but they looked all dark inside so they are in... who knows

The Lo doesnt either think they got too hot They were at the end of the carton so up high Look ok until day 9 or 10 but could suprise me they are very dark inside.
BUT...the good one were up on the other end.Too to at only one end?
i didnt switch them around always the ones on one end were up at that spot.so who knows.Should have i guess

The Coronation Sussex is a goner didnt grow at all Saw that day 10 but left it in case.

SO Good for lockdown tomorrow are;
2 SFH and 2 BLRW (the ones i didnt care about LOL).and LO and GLB will go in but wont hold my breath OH well Shipped.... lucky any made it this far.

Ooh and GA - I meant to tell you - I dropped and broke an egg in the beginning of this batch. I dropped it in my homemade bator - I dropped it on another egg and some of it seeped down to the floor - under the cookie rack I had the crates on...... I was so distraught, I didn't even bother to clean it up. It never molded or anything so you might be OK just doing your dirty eggs.......I had yolk/white on the egg that the one had landed on and that one is developing fine - it's a little crusty - but it's moving inside the shell nearly two weeks later...... I'm no expert though - I just thought I'd tell you my experience.
