Thank you for the replies..............
Just going to have to wait and see.....
The neat thing about hatching is there is always something new to learn

I've hatched a lot of eggs and am always surprised that I still get excited and can't quit checking the incubator.
Should burn some calories shouldn't it...........

Good luck all....................

Sorry honey, I think I meant Roxanne. I am so out of it. Thanks Hun! ;)

Ok, I went back and read over the posts again. I think what you were commenting (& I misunderstood), is not that I told you to end her but how I mentioned I just couldn't bring myself to end our little Mini & you felt the same about yours.

How is it doing now? Any change?

Wow, have you had that drink yet? I think I'm going to join you **grabs the wine bottle**.

See I knew it was you. I'm just too out of it to properly post what I mean. She is absorbing her yolk....I cannot believe it, and hang in there although she isn't standing just laying there twitching once and again and chirped a time or two.

No wine, settling for kool aid and sleep meds ;)

That's good! The twitching is what draws the yolk into the abdomen. Hopefully it makes it :D

I think most people here understand. I had lots of heartache during my first hatch too. All 4 of my eggs hatched... BUT, 2 had to be put down because of leg problems (sometimes I think it's easier if they didn't hatch at all rather than having to be the one to choose to end it's life), My only 1 healthy chick ended up having seizures and died 1 week later, and the 4th chick was a runt and has had a ton of troubles. We still have him, but only cuz I don't have the heart to put him down. He's been sneezing or something... Not sure what's going on with him and it sucks that I have to keep him completely isolated from all our other chicks/chickens... and for what? I dont' know, but I just know I can't bear to end him.

This last hatch was better... but still I had 2 die in shell that I know made it to hatch day. They were both stuck like glue in there, and I'm sure a bit shrink wrapped maybe? The 2nd chick was still alive when I pipped it the next day to check... but it died too & I felt helpless that I couldn't save it.

Heartache in both... BUT, the cute chicks that we do have help to fill the void. Your little chickie doodles will too. And I'm sending good hatch vibes for your next ones! :)

I'll be setting eggs again on March 9th for the Easter Hatch-a-long. That thread is a MAD HOUSE though, so I'm sure I'll post in the March thread instead.

.
Oh yes MAAH totalally right.... we all have

It is sad to have a terrible hatch
.My first 2 hatches ever i didnt get ONE chick and so naiive didnt realize that its a gamble and may happen.
I was in total disbelief the first time. Babied those eggs for 3 weeks in that room every hour for 3 weeks and nothing.

Messed up chicks and no chicks happen.

I had one just died a month ago had a bad leg and hip died after 6 months old. in a box alone just couldnt cull...but what a sad life.
Now have another At first could walk thought it would improve leaned a lot on things but walked...but now about 5 weeks old doesnt try!! SITS
Another box baby but in with a healthy sib not alone .

Puts a bad taste in your mouth for sure though . But the good hatches are a miracle and a joy.

I have heard that Seramas are very hard to hatch.

I just had 8 Serama eggs and only one was almost to lock down then it went bad too. Oh well.I didnt expect much with them at all anyway

.Right now i am waiting for my Lav AMs and its day 21...The bator went cold unplugged one day for at least 2 hours i am hoping they will just hatch late.but not holding my breath on that either so will be very excited if i get any.
Sorry to all who had messed up chicks or bad hatches. Goods ones will come.... Just keep trying!
